Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about DoorMinder.
What does DoorMinder do?
DoorMinder watches your Ring contact (door/window) sensors. If a door is left open longer than your time limit, it emails you an alert. When the door closes, it emails you again — including how long it was open.
How do I get started?
Install DoorMinder from the Ring Appstore in your Ring app, select the sensors you want to monitor, and confirm. Ring connects your account to DoorMinder automatically — there's no separate sign-up. New users can't create an account on this website; you must start from the Ring app.
I already linked. How do I sign in to the website?
On the DoorMinder home page, choose "Log in with your email." Enter the email on your Ring account and we'll send you a 6-digit code — no password to remember.
Which devices work with DoorMinder?
Ring contact sensors — indoor and outdoor door/window sensors. DoorMinder does not use cameras or video.
How long until I get an alert?
By default, DoorMinder alerts you if a door stays open for 5 minutes. This threshold is configurable per account.
Where are alerts sent?
To the email address on your Ring account, from staff@trakr.cam. Add that address to your contacts so alerts don't land in spam.
What data does DoorMinder use?
Your Ring account email (to create your account and send alerts) and the open/close events from the sensors you chose to share. DoorMinder never accesses video or audio. See our Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel or disconnect?
Manage or remove DoorMinder from Ring My Apps in your Ring app. Disconnecting stops all monitoring and alerts. To have your stored data deleted, see the Privacy Policy.
Is DoorMinder affiliated with Ring?
No. DoorMinder is an independent app that works with Ring devices through the Ring Appstore. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ring or Amazon.
