This Privacy Policy explains how DoorMinder ("DoorMinder", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the DoorMinder application and website at doorminder.trakr.cam. DoorMinder is an independent application that works with Ring devices; it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ring or Amazon.
Information we collect
- Ring account email. When you link DoorMinder from the Ring Appstore, we receive your Ring account email to create your DoorMinder account and send you alerts.
- Basic profile. Your first and last name, if provided by Ring.
- Device events. Open and close (and related) events from the Ring contact sensors you choose to share, including device identifiers and timestamps.
- Access tokens. Authorization tokens from Ring that let DoorMinder receive your device events, stored securely.
DoorMinder does not access, receive, store, or process video, audio, or images from any device.
How we use your information
- To create and maintain your DoorMinder account.
- To detect when a door is left open and send you email alerts.
- To show your event history in the DoorMinder dashboard.
- To authenticate you when you log in (via a one-time email code).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that operate DoorMinder — for example, cloud hosting and email delivery — and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
We keep your account information while your DoorMinder account is linked. Sensor event history is retained for a limited period (see Pricing for plan limits) and then automatically deleted. One-time login codes expire within minutes.
Data deletion
You can disconnect DoorMinder at any time from Ring My Apps in your Ring app, which stops all data collection. To request deletion of the data we have stored, email staff@trakr.cam from your account email and we will delete your account data.
Security
Access tokens and secrets are stored in managed secret storage, data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and access is restricted to the DoorMinder service.
Children's privacy
DoorMinder is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
